Inter Circuit games at Ankosia

The Wassa Amenfi East Municipality of the Ghana Education Service has held it's Inter - Schools Sports competition for Basic Schools in the Municipality.
Schools in Wassa Amenfi East Municipality have been participating in such games since time immemorial to unearth talent, create healthy competition among schools and students and seal bragging rights in the end.
Due to Covid-19, both athletics and football organized among Basic Schools were put on hold. It was anticipated the games would resume early last year but that did not see the light of the day.
Early this year, reports emerged that the football competition among schools was set to bounce back as soon as possible.
With regards to this, the Basic School Sports Federation of Wassa Amenfi East organized a zonal football school competition which witnessed all schools in Wassa Amenfi East participating.
At the end of the Zonal Competition, the participating schools that qualified to compete at the circuit level were : Wassa Akropong ‘A’, Afransie , Saamang , Wassa Gyapa, Mampong, Nananko, Opon Valley, Bawdie , Nsuaem No. 2, Nkonya, Wassa Akropong ‘B’ and Dawurampong.
The Inter Circuit under 13 Champion kicked start from Tuesday, 14th June, 2022 to Thursday, 16th June, 2022. The sporting event was graced by the Municipal Chief Executive of Wassa Amenfi East Municipality, Hon. Frederick Korankye, Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Ismael Anaman, the Municipal Education Director, Mr. Joseph Amoesi and teachers of various schools.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Frederick Korankye in this speech congratulated the organizers and various schools for their participation. He added that, the sporting competition was to identify and select talents to represent the Municipality in sporting activities. He encouraged students to take their studies and academics seriously since modern day football goes hand in hand with academics.
He therefore promised to support them when time was due for camping and presented four (4) sets of Jerseys and two (2) footballs to the organizers of the competition.
