MCE deliberate with chiefs over the redevelopment of Wassa Akropong Market.

The Wassa Akropong market in the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly of the Western Region will soon receive a massive facelift, Municipal Chief Executive for Wassa Amenfi East, Hon. Frederick Korankye has disclosed. The market, arguably one of the busiest hubs commercial activities especially on Thursdays which serves as the market day would be developed into a modern market facility with stores, urinal bay, creche, Fire service and NADMO post, Banking Hall etc.

Hon. Frederick Korankye announced this when he met with the Chief of Wassa Akropong and other sub chiefs within the Municipality. The revelations of the MCE was in response to concerns raised by market women who ply their trade at the facility of neglect by the assembly towards the refurbishment of the market.

Nana Appiah Kubi II, the chief of Wassa Akropong was overwhelmed hearing the redevelopment of the market and pledged to support in any way necessary to witness the facelift of the market.

The completion of the market, he indicated is expected to solve the difficulties faced by the market women in the discharge of their businesses at the current facility.
