WAEMA HOLDS TOWN HALL MEETING AT MARFOKROM

Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly has held its first Town Hall Meeting for this year, 2021 to bring decision making to the doorsteps of the people on development projects and programmes and solicit the views of the stakeholders on issues that would help to improve the socio-economic welfare of the people.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Ishmael Anaman in his address to the participants said the vision of the Assembly was to become a progressive Municipality that would efficiently serve the people through strategic partnership with businesses and stakeholders.
He added that the Assembly exist to ensure effective and efficient delivery of public services in collaboration with stakeholders, and Town Hall Meetings offers the platform to make the public understand local government Public Financial Management issues in order to promote transparency and accountability in the management of public resources for development.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Helena Appiah in her remarks noted that as part of the decentralization processes, it was also necessary to engage the public on the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development policies and programmes.
She said the Assembly has over the years implemented several projects and programmes for the wellbeing of the people in the areas of health, education, sanitation and security among others. The presentation to the people was focused on the performance of the Assembly in the implementation of the 2021 annual action plan and budget.
