Inspection of GrEEn Project for 2021

The GrEEn project aims at creating greater economic and employment opportunities for the youth, women and returning migrants by promoting and supporting sustainable, green businesses and environment. Only two selected Regions in Ghana, being Ashanti and Western Region are beneficiaries of the GrEEn project. These are some Specific objectives of GrEEn: 1. To support the transition of communities and local economies towards a Green and climate-resilient development. 2. To improve the ability of women, youth and returning migrants to take advantage of job and entrepreneurship opportunities in Green and climate resilient local economies. 3. To create and strengthen a local enabling environment that supports youth (self-)employment and the growth of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs).
The Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly benefitted an amount of GH₵ 127,200.00 from the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the SNV Netherlands Development Organization under the cash for work project. The Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly constructed One Mechanized borehole and three (3) fetching points at Odoomkrom. This project helped solve the lack of water situation at Odoomkrom. Again, a 1 No. Single 1200mm pipe culvert was constructed at Abeneso to make the road motorable and accessible to commuters during raining season. All projects had been inspected by the GrEEN Ghana team after its completion.
