WAEMA on track to achieve Medium Term Development Plan Targets.

The Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly is on track to achieve its targets set in the medium-term development plan for 2018 to 2021which is in line with the government’s “Agenda for jobs” creating Prosperity and Equal Opportunity for All.

This was contained in the sessional address of the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Helena Appiah delivered to Assembly Members at the third ordinary meeting of the assembly held on 11th July,2019.

She said the assembly sees the private sector as the engine of economic growth and have initiated capacity development programmes for the local artisans in small and medium scale enterprises to improve upon their businesses.

Hon. Helena Appiah assured the Assembly members that the assembly would create the enabling environment for businesses to thrive and measures have been put in place to rehabilitate existing market structures and also construct new ones to boost domestic trade in the municipality.

She mentioned a number of on-going projects to improve education, healthcare services, water and sanitation as well as reshaping and maintenance of feeder roads and the planned rehabilitation of the Community Information Center and the Magistrate Court structures.
