WAEMA Organizes Orientation and Training Programme for Assembly Members

The Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly (WAEMA) has organized a two-day Orientation and Training Program for Assembly Members on 13th to 14th of August, 2020 to equip them with the relevant skills to enable them perform their duties effectively.

The training was organized for them as part of measures to train all Assembly Members’ across the country by Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) and Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS).

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Helena Appiah in her remarks at the opening ceremony for the commencement of the training programme advised the participant to take the capacity building training seriously in order for them to perform their duties effectively.

The Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Ishmael Anaman expressed his gratitude to the participant at the end of the training for participating fully in each session of the programme.

Mr. Ishmael Anaman urged all Assembly Members to engage with their people at their Electoral Areas before coming for meetings in order to meet the needs of their people.

The participant were taken through courses such as Design of Ghana’s Local Governance system, communication skills, Good Practices, Engaging people in Electoral Areas and among others.
