WAEMA HOLDS GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING

In pursuance of Session 28 (1) and (2a) of the Local Governance Act, 2016, Act 936, Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly has held its 2nd Ordinary Meeting of the 5th Assembly on 23rd to 24th July, 2020 at the Municipal Assembly Hall.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Helena Appiah in her address expressed her sincere gratitude to Honorable Assembly Members and the people of Wassa Amenfi East Municipality. She Congratulated the Honorable Assembly Members on their election to the Assembly, both first entrants and old members.

She further expressed her sincere appreciation and gratitude to all Hon, Members of the House and Heads of Departments and all Unit Heads for supporting the Assembly with formulation and implementation of key policies and programmes which has contributed significantly to the total development of the Municipality.

Hon. Helena Appiah stated that the policy framework adopted by the Government of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo is “Agenda for Jobs” Creating Prosperity and Equal Opportunity for All (2018-2021).

She highlighted that, the policy framework is organized under Three (3) broad themes namely; Economic Development, Social Development and Environment, Infrastructure and Human Settlements. Therefore, her address was categorized under three (3) thematic areas, name; Economic Development, Social Development and Environment, Infrastructure and Human Settlements.

The Coordinating Director, Mr. Ishmael Anaman in his closing remarks expressed his gratitude to the participants and urged all Honorable Assembly Members to send their request for projects through the workers of the Assembly
