Chinese Ambassador to Ghana Pays Courtesy Call on MCE of Wassa Amenfi East.

The Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Amb Wang has paid a courtesy call on the Municipal Chief Executive for Wassa Amenfi East, Hon. Helena Appiah at Wassa Akropong.
The Ambassador informed management of the Assembly that the purpose of his visit was to foster improved relationship between Ghana and China, especially Wassa Amenfi East Municipality which also has a Chinese Business Community. His Excellency Amb Wang appealed to the Assembly to assist his embassy in capturing accurate data on the Chinese nationals living in the municipality to ensure their safety. He said the Chinese government would donate vehicles to the Ghana Police Service to enable them provide adequate security to the citizenry. The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Helena Appiah in her remarks charged the Chinese Ambassador to encourage the Chinese nationals in the municipality to be law abiding and refrain from all forms of violence which undermines the peace and stability of the municipality. She appealed to the Ambassador to consider posting teachers to the municipality to teach Chinese language in schools and also enroll officers of the Assembly onto the existing exchange programs with the Chinese to develop their skills in the language. She also made a request to the Ambassador to support the Assembly with a motor grader for the reshaping of roads in the municipality.
