Election for person's with disability.

The department of social welfare and community development in collaboration with the Regional Ghana Federation of the Disability organized an election to elect the new chairman of the federation for the Amenfi East Municipal. This position has become vacant since last year after the unfortunate demise of the then president. The chairman of federation with his executives were admonished to be deligent in their work and also promote the cause of persons with disabilities in the municipality. The association have more than 700 members in the municipality. 50 member were selected from their various electoral areas to cast the vote to represent all members in the municipality . With regards to the chairmanship position, only two members vyed for the position namely Peter Apandago and Kenneth Ando, after the election, Peter Apandago had 70 percent and Kenneth Ando had 30 percentage which automatically means Peter emerged as the chairman and will be assisted by Kenneth . Apart from the chairmanship position all other positions were unopposed . The EC boss asked members present to vote " yes or no " to confirm their candidature for the unopposed. They all had 90 percent vote which confirms thier acceptance into office.
