MCE VISIT TO THE VARIOUS BECE CENTERS

The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which is conducted annually by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), which is written to qualify students for admission into Senior High and Vocational Schools in Ghana. It is written after three years of Junior High School (JHS) education. 2,819 drawn from one hundred and four (104) Schools made up fourty (40) Private and sixty-four (64) Public Schools with 1,433 and 1,386 being Male and Female Candidates respectively will be sitting for the exams within the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal. The Municipality has ten (10) exam centers earmarked for this week-long examination, which commenced from Monday, November 15, 2021 and scheduled to end on Friday November 19, 2021. The Municipal Chief Executive (M.C.E), Hon. Frederick Korankye and a team comprising of the Municipal Education Director, Mr. Aggrey Forson and some Members of the Municipal Assembly and Education Directorate embarked on a tour of the various exams centers within the municipality. The purpose of the visit was to motivate thus offer words of encouragement to the candidates. The Team first visited the AMENSS Exams center, where the M.C.E interacted with Candidates in order to ascertain their state of mind regarding the examination. He carried out similar activity at other Exam centers he visited. In an interview with the Media, Hon. Frederick Korankye explained that his visit was to advise and psyche the candidates up to be well composed for the examination. “Over the years our candidates have performed well in the BECE and it is important that we encourage them to do more and from our visit, it is very clear that the students have been encouraged and are poised to come up with flying colours at the end of the examination. The experienced teachers are also to be commended for preparing the students for the examination. I promise to award the best student with good grade, but that do not give you the opportunity to rely on foreign material.”He Said. He also advised the candidates to give off their very best in order to enjoy the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy of the Government. The M.C.E also visited exam centers at Gyapa, Nananko, Bawdie and Nkonya in the Municipality. The Hon. M.C.E of the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal, Frederick Korankye wishes all BECE candidates within and outside the municipality the very best of luck in their exams.
