WAEMA donate Coconut Tree to Farmers .

The president, his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo lunched the grogram ‘Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD)’ which is a module under government’s strategic programme for the growth and development of Agriculture Sector. His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, revealed that the programme will help link agriculture to industries through the provision of solid raw material base for industrialization, develop rural economies and the structural transformation of the national economy. However, the selection of crops in each locality or district was to be based on the ecological zone of the locality or the District. In view of this, the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly has selected Para rubber, Oil Palm and Coconut as suitable crops under the PERD initiative. In line with this, the Assembly through the sponsorship of GetFund acquired and distributed 2,000 coconut seedlings to 34 farmers within the Municipality.
