Friends of Nation, through the Fair4All project, organized training on Gender-Responsive Tracking of Minerals Development Fund (MDF) Projects for community members in Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly
The training aimed to empower women, youth, and assembly officials by building their capacity to effectively track the utilization of MDF projects at the sub-national level, ensuring these projects align with gender-responsive development goals.
Key recommendations from the monitoring exercise included allocating MDF funds to non-physical projects such as vocational training for women, raising awareness of women's rights in the extractive sector, mounting project signage at project sites and improving accessibility with disability-friendly infrastructure at project sites.
