My first day at school celebration in Wassa Amenfi East Municipality

My first day at school is an annual program organized nationwide to usher new pupils to schools. The main motive behind My First Day at School is to officially welcome fresh pupils to school and also to motivate them to stay in school.

The Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the Municipal Education Directorate organized my First Day at School for the schools in the Municipality. Officers from the Municipal Assembly and the Municipal Education Directorate were grouped into teams and each of team was assigned to a number of schools within the Municipality.

In a team led by Hon. Frederick Korankye, the MCE for Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly visited six (6) school. Other members of the team were Mr. Francis Asamoah, Assistant Director in charge of supervision at the Municipal Education Directorate and Mr. Sigismund Bucknor, Assistant Director at the Municipal Assembly. The schools the MCE and his team visited were Bawdie M/A Basic School, Adaamanso M/A Basic School, Adonnoi M/A Basic School, New Aboye M/A Basic School, Dawurampong MA Basic School and Dawurampong English and Arabic Basic School.

The MCE took time to interact with some of the pupil. He motivated them and encouraged them to stay in school and also to take their studies serious. The MCE distributed biscuits and kalypo to all fresh students in Basic one and KG 1 as a way of motivating them to stay in school. The Head teachers and teachers in the above mentioned schools expressed their excitement about the MCE’s visit and thank him and his team for the visit.
