WASSA AMENFI EAST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY CELEBRATES GREEN GHANA DAY.

The Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly joined the entire country to mark the Green Ghana Day Celebration. The celebration which was held at Nsuaem No.2 saw the participation of the Municipal chief Executive, Municipal cordinating Director, Heads of Departments and agencies within the Assembly, Nananom and the good people of Nsuaem No.2.

In his presentation , the municipal chief Executive, Hon. Frederick Korankye emphasized the Assembly's commitment to the Presidents vision of restoring Ghana's depleted forest cover and contributing to the global fight against climate change. He said" the process of ensuring a sustainable greener tomorrow depends on the collective commitment of all citizens to protect our forest and other natural resourses today".

He also revealed that the Assembly over the three years of inception of the Green Ghana initiative has planted over twenty thousand tree seedlings within communities, schools , public institutions and other public places across the Municipality. The Municipal chief Executive together with his entourage planted some trees within the community to mark the occassion. The team also used the opportunity to inspect progress of work on the construction of 1 No. 1800mm double pipe culvert and the construction of a 1 No. mechanized borehole with storage tank ongoing at Nsuam No.2 under the UNCDF GrEEn project.

This year's Green Ghana Day celebration was under the theme: “Growing for a greener tomorrow”.
